Airport Runway 32 Rehab Project

Updated 8/8/08

Call Mark at 522-2191 with any questions.

August 6, 2008:

We will close the Airport at 0500 local on the 18th of August.  Please make any necessary arrangements prior to that date.  So far on the project all the full depth repairs have been made and the milling of the crack repair areas has been completed.  Yesterday the test mat for the intermediate asphalt course was laid and depending on testing results they could very possibly start laying asphalt tonight.  This will be just short of a 24 hour operation during this Phase.  Regardless of where they might be on this phase, they will pull off this portion of pavement and start the Midfield section on the 18th.  Plans call for a 5 day closure… weather permitting. Any other changes, I’ll keep you posted. .

July 12, 2008:

Yesterday we held our pre-construction meeting with all involved, the project to rehab 14/32 WILL start on July 28, 2008. Contractors will be milling both ends of the runway at the same time. Taxiway Bravo will be open for access to Runway 23. ON AUGUST 18, 2008 WE WILL CLOSE THE AIRPORT. THIS PHASE IS SCHEDULED FOR 5 DAYS, DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER.

The project is to run for 68 calendar days so it will run well through September. If someone has any idea that they may need or want to fly, now is a good time to make arrangements to move their aircraft. Runway 32 will remain closed throughout the duration of the project. If anyone has questions, I’ll be out of the office all next week but I will return July 22nd.
