Young Eagles Aviation Day

May 5, 2001

The Mansfield Avaition Club held its fall Young Eagle's Day on Saturday, May 5 2001. The event started at 10:00 and lasted until after noon. The weather for the event was nice. Rain was forecast but never came.

Ten airplanes flown by MAC pilots gave rides to 130 children. By the looks of things, everyone involved had a wonderful time.

We all at MAC want to extend a warm thank-you to the following groups, whose help was surely needed:

+ FAA personnel, for smoothly and professionally keeping MAC airplanes, as well as many non-event airplanes, separated.

+ Richland Aviation (Brad and Carolyn Pocock) for the fuel discount and for helping serve food to the eagles after their ride.

+ The Flying Turtle Restaurant, (Sam and Sheila) for providing food and soft drinks for the eagles.

+ Shirley Shindler, for baking cookies for the eagles.

+ EAA Chapter 148 (Ashland) for their pilot and ground handler help.
