Young Eagles Aviation Day

May 4, 2002

The Mansfield Aviation Club held its fall Young Eagle's Day on Saturday, May 4 2002. The event started at 10:00 and lasted until around noon. The weather for the event was good, if a little on the cold side.

Ten airplanes flown by MAC pilots gave rides to 72 young eagles. After the airplane ride the eagles enjoyed hot dogs provided by the Flying Turtle Restaurant. By the looks of things, everyone involved had a wonderful time.

We all at MAC want to extend a warm thank-you to the following groups, whose help was surely needed:

+ FAA personnel, for smoothly and professionally keeping MAC airplanes, as well as many non-event airplanes, separated.

+ Richland Aviation (Brad and Carolyn Pocock) for the fuel discount and for helping serve food to the eagles after their ride.

+ The Flying Turtle Restaurant for providing food and soft drinks for the eagles.

+ The City (Mark Daugherty and Crew)   for preparing runway 5-23, allowing us to have 2 active runways.

+ EAA Chapter 148 (Ashland) for their pilot help.
